William Barcock died from wounds on 4th March, 1918, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 170th Company of the Machine Gun Corps was part of 170 Brigade, 57th Division that had arrived in France at the beginning of 1917 and had been involved in the fighting on the Western Front since that date, including the Third Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele) the summer and autumn of 1917. |
